Integration prototype
Job Match: a Chrome extension for CV and job-description comparison
A browser-extension prototype that compares a CV with job-page text and presents AI-generated fit analysis alongside the listing.
Job Match brings a comparison tool to the page a candidate is already reading. The Chrome extension pairs a saved CV profile with job-description text and asks a model to explain possible fit and gaps.
Read the listing beside the analysis
The documented flow begins with a PDF CV upload and profile extraction. On a job page, the extension can request a role summary, required skills, fit analysis, and a tailored cover-letter draft.
The README lists LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, and Lever, with a general page-text fallback. That describes intended support, not a guarantee that every current page layout can be read successfully.
A browser extension with direct model calls
The JavaScript extension stores its profile in Chrome storage and calls OpenAI directly. It is loaded as an unpacked extension for local use rather than installed from a documented public store listing.
This design makes the boundary visible: local browser storage is separate from data sent in an analysis request. A statement that the CV is stored locally does not mean its contents stay on the device during model processing.
Scores and salary estimates need judgment
A generated match percentage is an interpretation of the provided text, not a hiring probability. Salary estimates and cover letters can be inaccurate and should be checked against the original listing and the candidate’s experience.
The setup puts a provider key in the user’s local extension configuration. This is a personal prototype, not a centrally managed credential architecture for distributing a commercial extension.
Compare the browser and workspace approaches
The README documents installation and the basic workflow. JobScout AI explores a related problem through a separate account dashboard and scheduled worker; this extension focuses on inspecting the page already open in the browser.
